Massimiliano Vaira graduated in Political Science – Social track – from the faculty of Political Science of the University of Turin. He obtained his Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Milan La Statale.
Currently he is Associated Professor of Economic and Labour Sociology at the Department of Political Sciences of the University of Pavia.
He has been a member of the Consortium of Higher Education Researchers since 2001, and a member of the Interdepartmental Centre of Studies and Research on Higher Education (CIRSIS) of the University of Pavia since 2005. His main research interests focus on the processes of institutional and organizational changes of higher education systems, higher education policies, academic work and careers, and the relations among universities, businesses and the socio-economic context.
