Emanula Stefani

Emanuela Stefani has led the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) since 1996, and has been the Director of the CRUI foundation for Italian Universities since 2001. She coordinates thematic activities for the CRUI as well as its foundation. She acquired a multi-year experience in the field of higher education, especially concerning assessment and support services for research and advanced postgraduate education policies.

Specifically:

  • project leader at the national and European level (recent projects include: PhD ITalents, national project funded by MIUR and carried out with Confindustria; DoOuP “Documentation for Quality Assurance of Study Programmes”, financed by the Tempus Program of the European Commission (2011-2014); Project EQUASP “On-line Quality Assurance of Study Programmes” coordinated by the University of Genoa and funded by the TEMPUS program of the European Commission for the period 2013-2016)
  • responsible for managing and negotiating digital resources contracts entered into by CRUI at the national level on behalf of the Italian University System
  • head of application assessment for traineeship programmes managed by CRUI
  • Italian representative in the Council of the European Universities Association (EUA)
  • Member of the Technical Committee MIUR-Fondazione CRUI for the execution of the PhD ITalents Project

Furthermore:

  • member of the editorial board of the CRUI foundation’s journal UNIVERSITAS
  • member of several independent evaluation units of Italian higher education institutions
  • member of the Scientific Council and expert evaluator of AVEPRO, the Italian agency for the evaluation and promotion of quality in ecclesiastical universities and faculties
  • works with the Inter University Consortium on Training (COINFO) to plan training programmes, and she shares scientific responsibility therefor
